A full-bodied white with rich, ripe pear fruit that develops into floral and herby peachiness. The wine has a long leesy character and fresh acidity. Attractive when young but worth leaving for a couple of years, which will allow the wine to develop some wonderful nutty and mineral notes.
£19.35
This champagne shows fine mousse in the glass and characteristic toasty yeast aromas, which are boosted by fuller fruit and more structure than the Brut Selection: quite rich but elegant with classic baked biscuit flavours and welcome burst of acidity on the finish.
£23.55
This wine shows what good value can be found in the lesser known 'appellation' of Menetou-Salon located to the west of Sancerre; fresh and floral with aromas of citrus and blackcurrant leaves, it's zesty and racy but with rounder fresh fruit balanced by minerally length.
£14.10
A very classy Chardonnay with flinty, minerality and great purity and restraint. Robertson fruit with its citrus core and ripe apple and pear, delicate tropical characters produces a wine with great poise. A touch of oak adds complexity whilst extended time on lees adds nut and toast notes.
£6.75
With a pale green-golden colour and aromas of pippin apples and fresh almonds these wines are very supple, nicely balanced by discrete acidity and have a good length in the mouth.
£20.50
This wine has a lovely pale straw yellow colour with a warm and complex perfume with typically aromatic notes of pear. It is fresh, well-balanced and lingering on the palate.
